Legal Information
Last updated: 3 November 2026
This page is the legal information notice for glitzfy, a commercial website published in the United Kingdom and dedicated to audiovisual production practice: broadcast studio design, camera control systems, professional lighting arrangements, sound engineering, and the workflows used by television networks, outside broadcast teams and live event producers. It explains who operates the website, how the business is registered, which statutory and tax identifiers apply to it, what visitors may and may not do with the material published here, how personal data and cookies are handled, and how disputes are resolved. It is written as a legal notice rather than as promotional copy, and it applies to every page, form, banner and download made available through the site.
Where this notice refers to terms such as 'we', 'us', 'our' or 'the operator', it means the company identified in section 2 below. Where it refers to 'you' or 'the visitor', it means any person who accesses the website, whether as a casual reader, a returning subscriber, a professional in the audiovisual industry, or a prospective customer of our services and course material.
1. The Role of This Notice and How It Fits With Other Documents
This notice deals with the legal identity of the operator, the rules of access and acceptable use, intellectual property, liability, external links, and the law that governs the relationship between us and our visitors. Separate documents deal with other aspects of that relationship, and each of them forms part of the overall set of terms that apply when you use this website: the Privacy Policy explains how personal data is collected and used; the Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies are placed on your device and why; the Terms and Conditions govern the use of the site and any paid services or learning material; and the Payment and Refund Policy explains how payments are taken, when an order or enrolment is confirmed, and how refunds and cancellations are handled.
If there is a conflict between this notice and a signed agreement between you and us, the signed agreement prevails to the extent of the conflict. If there is a conflict between this notice and the Privacy Policy on a matter concerning personal data, the Privacy Policy prevails, because data protection law places specific obligations on us that cannot be varied by a general notice such as this one.
The site is a commercial website. It is published in English, it targets the United Kingdom, and it is intended for adults acting in a professional or business capacity as well as for members of the public with an interest in audiovisual production. Nothing on the site is directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
2. Identity of the Website Operator
2.1 Who we are
The website is operated by glitzfy. The operator is the person responsible for the content published on the site, the party that enters into any contract formed through the site, and the controller of the personal data processed in connection with the site. If you need to identify the operator for the purposes of a complaint, a legal claim, a data protection request or a copyright notice, the details in this section and in section 3 are the details to use.
2.2 Legal form and registration
We are a private company limited by shares. The company is incorporated and registered in England and Wales, and it is registered under the Companies Act 2006. Our company registration number is 04141235. The word 'Limited' forms part of our registered name, and the abbreviation 'Ltd' may be used in ordinary correspondence. Because the company is limited, the liability of its shareholders is limited to the amount unpaid on their shares, which means that the personal assets of shareholders are not available to satisfy the debts of the company in the ordinary course.
Company law requires a United Kingdom company to disclose certain particulars on its business letters, order forms and websites. The particulars that must appear are the part of the United Kingdom in which the company is registered, the company's registered number, and the address of its registered office, together with a statement of limited status where a company is exempt from using the word 'limited' in its name. Those requirements are set out in regulation 25 of the Company, Limited Liability Partnership and Business (Names and Trading Disclosures) Regulations 2015, which is published in full at [legislation.gov.uk](https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2015/17/regulation/25). The same duties are summarised in plain terms in official guidance for companies running a limited company at [gov.uk](https://www.gov.uk/running-a-limited-company/signs-stationery-and-promotional-material). Where companies choose to show the amount of share capital on stationery or a website, the disclosure must be expressed as paid-up share capital, and we follow that rule. Guidance for businesses publishing information on their websites also recommends that the registered identity details be placed where they can be found easily, for example on an about or contact page or in the site footer, as described at [nibusinessinfo.co.uk](https://www.nibusinessinfo.co.uk/content/business-websites-legal-requirements).
2.3 Tax identifiers, business identifiers and VAT
Our VAT registration number is GB 770 0150 70. If we supply digital content or services to consumers, VAT is charged at the applicable United Kingdom rate and shown on the invoice. Our Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR) is 2305207473, which is the reference used by HM Revenue and Customs for corporation tax matters. Our Dun and Bradstreet D-U-N-S number is 22 122 1851, an identifier used mainly by corporate and public sector customers during supplier onboarding. None of these numbers is secret, and you may quote them when you need to match our records to your own procurement or accounting systems.
If you are a business customer and need a VAT invoice, an invoice for a purchase order, or a supplier information form completed, write to us at london@abbeyroadinstitute.com and we will respond with the document you need.
2.4 Responsible representatives
Day-to-day responsibility for the website rests with the directors of the company, who are also its data protection point of contact for the purposes of the UK GDPR. The directors are recorded on the public register maintained by Companies House. Where we publish directors' names on business correspondence, we list all directors together rather than selecting some of them; that approach reflects the disclosure expectations described in the official guidance cited above.
2.5 Licences, permissions and regulated activity
We are not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, we do not provide financial advice or investment services, and we do not hold ourselves out as doing so. Our activity is the production of editorial, technical and educational material about audiovisual production, together with any related services we describe on the site. Where the site refers to equipment, standards, broadcast practices or technical workflows, that material is general technical information and is not a substitute for advice from a suitably qualified engineer, a site-specific risk assessment, or the requirements of a broadcaster or venue. Any licence, permit or permission needed for the installation or operation of audiovisual equipment at your premises remains your responsibility.
Music, footage, images and fonts used on the site are used only where we hold a licence, where the rights holder has given permission, or where the material is in the public domain or otherwise lawfully available. If you believe that material on the site infringes your rights, see section 12 for how to tell us.
3. Registered Office and How to Contact Us
3.1 Registered office
Our registered office address in the United Kingdom is Abbey Road Institute at Angel Studios, 311-312 Upper Street, London, N1 2TU, United Kingdom. This is the address at which documents may be served on the company, and it is the address at which the company's statutory books are kept available for inspection where the law requires inspection.
3.2 Contact channels
You can reach us in the following ways. Email: london@abbeyroadinstitute.com. Telephone: +44 (0)20 7266 7397. Post: Abbey Road Institute at Angel Studios, 311-312 Upper Street, London, N1 2TU, United Kingdom. The website also has a Contacts page with a contact form, which is the quickest route for general questions about courses, content and commercial enquiries; messages sent through the form are received by the same team that monitors the email address above. When you contact us, please tell us which page or document your question relates to, because that allows us to answer more quickly and accurately.
3.3 Statutory particulars repeated on this website
For the avoidance of doubt, the trading disclosure particulars required of us are repeated here and appear in the footer of this website: the part of the United Kingdom in which we are registered is England and Wales; our registered number is 04141235; and our registered office address is Abbey Road Institute at Angel Studios, 311-312 Upper Street, London, N1 2TU, United Kingdom. We are a limited company, and the word 'Limited' forms part of our registered name.
4. Purpose, Scope and Intended Audience of the Website
The website exists to publish practical, technically accurate material about audiovisual production. The subjects covered include the design of broadcast studios and control rooms, camera control and vision engineering, lighting design and rigging for studio and live environments, sound capture and mixing, signal flow and routing, and the operational workflows that allow television networks, streaming platforms and live event producers to run reliably under time pressure.
The scope of the site includes editorial articles, technical explainers, reference material, illustrated guides, downloadable checklists, and, where offered, paid courses, workshops and consultancy. The site does not host user-generated discussion forums and does not operate a blog or news feed; content is published as a curated library rather than as a chronological stream.
The intended audience is professionals working in broadcast, production, AV integration, education and live events, together with informed enthusiasts and students preparing for work in those fields. The material is written for readers who already have a basic understanding of technical concepts, and it assumes familiarity with standard terminology. It is not addressed to children, and it is not designed for use in hazardous environments without appropriate supervision and risk assessment.
Content is provided for information and training purposes. It is not a substitute for manufacturer instructions, British Standards, broadcasters' technical specifications, or the advice of a competent person on site. Where a decision could affect the safety of people or the integrity of equipment, you must obtain appropriate professional advice before acting.
5. Access to the Website and Acceptable Use
5.1 Access
Access to the public areas of the website is free of charge, although the cost of your internet connection and any data charges are yours. Some material, such as course modules, downloads or recorded sessions, may require registration, a paid enrolment, or a licence key. We aim to keep the site available continuously, but access is provided on an 'as available' basis and may be interrupted for maintenance, security work, updates or events outside our reasonable control.
5.2 Permitted use
You may read, view and print pages from the website for your own internal business or personal study purposes, provided you keep any copyright notices intact. You may quote short extracts in internal presentations or academic work where the source is clearly attributed to glitzfy. Course materials supplied to you after enrolment may be used by the named participant only.
5.3 Prohibited conduct
When using the website you must not:
- copy, republish, sell, sublicense, rent or redistribute substantial parts of the content, or use it to create a competing product or training course;
- scrape, harvest or systematically extract content or personal data, including by automated tools, or use the site to train a machine learning model without our written permission;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, to another user's account, or to any server or network connected to the site;
- introduce viruses, malware, ransomware, spyware or any other harmful code, or do anything that interferes with the proper working of the site;
- post, upload or transmit material that is unlawful, defamatory, misleading, discriminatory, obscene, or that infringes the rights of any third party, where a facility for submitting content is provided;
- impersonate any person, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or organisation;
- use the website in a way that breaches any applicable law or regulation, including export control, sanctions and data protection law.
5.4 Accounts and security
Where registration is required, you must provide accurate information, keep your credentials confidential, and tell us promptly at london@abbeyroadinstitute.com if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity carried out under your account until you notify us. We may suspend or close an account where we reasonably believe these rules have been breached, where we are required to do so by law, or where continued access would expose us or other users to risk. Where an account is closed for a breach of these rules, fees already paid for a period in which access was withdrawn because of that breach may be retained, as explained in the Payment and Refund Policy.
6. Ownership and Permitted Use of Content, Trade Marks and Other Intellectual Property
6.1 Ownership
All intellectual property rights in the website and in the material published on it, including text, diagrams, illustrations, photographs, video, audio, course structures, checklists, templates, page design, code and databases, belong to glitzfy or are licensed to us by their owners. The compilation of the site as a whole is protected as a database and as a collection of copyright works. No rights are transferred to you other than the limited permission set out below.
6.2 Limited licence to visitors
Subject to section 5, we grant you a revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access the website and to use its content for internal reference and study. You may download and print a reasonable number of pages for that purpose. You may not modify, translate, adapt or create derivative works from the content for commercial purposes, and you may not remove or obscure authorship, copyright or attribution notices.
6.3 Trade marks and brand names
Our trading name, logos, product names and course titles are trade marks or unregistered marks belonging to us. Third-party names, product names, logos, standards and brands that appear on the site belong to their respective owners and are used for identification, instruction or comment only. Their appearance does not imply any endorsement, sponsorship, partnership or affiliation unless we say so expressly. You may refer to us by name in factual, non-misleading statements, but you may not use our marks in a way that suggests a commercial connection, endorsement or sponsorship that does not exist.
6.4 Copyright complaints
If you believe that material published on the site infringes your copyright, trade mark or other rights, write to london@abbeyroadinstitute.com with your contact details, a description of the material, the location of the material on the site, and evidence of your rights. We will review the notice promptly and will remove or amend material where the complaint is well founded.
7. Accuracy, Availability and Proportionate Limits of Liability
7.1 Accuracy of information
We take care to make the technical information on the site accurate and current, and we review material periodically. Even so, technology changes quickly, standards are revised, and equipment behaves differently in different environments. Content is therefore provided for general guidance and training purposes, and it may not be complete, up to date or suitable for your specific circumstances. Where an error or ambiguity is drawn to our attention, we will consider correcting it; errors do not create a right to compensation unless the law provides otherwise.
7.2 Availability and changes to the site
We may add, amend, withdraw or reorganise any part of the site, including courses, downloads and features, without notice. We do not guarantee that the site will be uninterrupted, secure or free from errors, that defects will be corrected, or that any particular content will remain available. We may suspend access to some or all of the site for maintenance or security reasons.
7.3 Limits of liability
Nothing in this notice limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. Subject to that, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of revenue, loss of anticipated savings, loss of data, business interruption, damage to equipment or reputation, or any indirect or consequential loss arising out of or in connection with the use of the website or reliance on its content. Where we are liable for damage to physical property or for other direct loss not excluded above, our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount paid by you to us for the relevant service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or one hundred pounds sterling. These limits are proportionate to the fact that the general content on the site is made available without charge.
7.4 Your responsibility
You are responsible for the equipment, software and network you use to access the site, for taking your own backups of anything you download, and for applying your own site rules, health and safety procedures and risk assessments when you put technical guidance into practice. You are also responsible for ensuring that any content you submit through a contact form or other facility does not infringe the rights of others.
8. External Links and Third-Party Content
The website may link to websites, tools, manufacturers' documentation, standards bodies, video platforms and other resources operated by third parties. Those links are provided for convenience and reference only. We do not control third-party sites, we do not review them continuously, and we do not endorse their content, products, services or privacy practices by linking to them. A link is not a recommendation and does not create any partnership or agency relationship.
When you follow a link, you leave our site and become subject to the terms and privacy practices of the destination site. You should read those terms before providing personal data or making a purchase. Any dealings you have with a third party found through this site are between you and that third party, and we are not responsible for their performance, their acts, their omissions or any loss you suffer as a result.
Where the site embeds third-party content, for example a video player or a font service, that content may set cookies or collect information about your device under the third party's own policies. The Cookie Policy describes the categories of cookies we use and how consent is obtained through the site-wide cookie banner, in line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 and the requirements of the Information Commissioner's Office.
9. Privacy, Cookies, Data Protection and Related Policies
We process personal data in accordance with the United Kingdom General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. In summary, we collect only the information we need in order to respond to enquiries, provide the content and services you request, maintain the security of the site, and comply with our legal obligations; we keep it only for as long as is necessary; we do not sell it; and we share it only with processors and professional advisers who help us operate the site under written terms. Individuals in the United Kingdom have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, and a right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
The following documents form part of the legal framework of this website and should be read together with this notice. They are referred to here in plain text so that the references remain clear whichever page of the site you are reading:
- Privacy Policy - the full description of what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, who we share it with, and how to exercise your data protection rights. Requests under the UK GDPR should be sent to london@abbeyroadinstitute.com.
- Cookie Policy - the list of cookies and similar technologies used on the site, their purpose and duration, and how to change your choices. Non-essential cookies are set only after consent is given through the cookie banner, and you can withdraw consent at any time.
- Terms and Conditions - the rules governing the use of this website, the purchase of courses, workshops and consultancy, and the relationship between us and the customer.
- Payment and Refund Policy - how prices, VAT, invoices, payment methods, cancellations, transfers, refunds and cooling-off periods are handled.
Where a consumer buys digital content or a service at a distance, United Kingdom consumer law, including the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015, gives statutory rights that cannot be reduced by contract. In particular, a consumer normally has fourteen days from the conclusion of a distance contract to cancel, although the right to cancel may be lost where digital content has been supplied with the consumer's express consent and acknowledgement that the right is lost. The Payment and Refund Policy explains how that works in practice for each type of product we offer.
10. Terms of Engagement, Payment and Refunds
Prices shown on the site are in pounds sterling and, where we are VAT registered, are shown inclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise. An order or enrolment is accepted only when we confirm it; a confirmation page or email is the point at which a contract is formed. We may decline an order where a price has been displayed in error, where we suspect fraud, where sanctions or export restrictions apply, or where the requested service is outside the scope of what we can properly provide.
Where a statutory cancellation right applies, a consumer may cancel within fourteen days of the contract being concluded and receive a refund of sums paid, less any deductions allowed by law. Where a service has begun at the consumer's request before the cancellation period ends, a proportionate charge may be made for the part of the service already supplied. Business customers are subject to the commercial terms agreed with them, including any notice period for cancelling consultancy or training engagements.
Refunds are made to the original payment method, normally within fourteen days of the cancellation being accepted or of the refund being agreed. If a payment fails, is reversed or is disputed, we may suspend access to paid material while the matter is resolved. Invoices are payable within the period stated on the invoice, and we reserve the right to charge interest and recovery costs on overdue commercial debts in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
11. Applicable Law, Courts and Consumer Dispute Rights
This notice, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with it or with the use of the website, is governed by the law of England and Wales. Subject to the paragraph below, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, and proceedings must be brought there.
If you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may bring proceedings in the courts of your own part of the United Kingdom, and nothing in this notice removes that right. If you are a consumer, you also keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protection rules in the country in which you habitually reside, and nothing here is intended to deprive you of those protections.
Before starting formal proceedings, we ask that you raise the matter with us first at london@abbeyroadinstitute.com so that we have the opportunity to resolve it. We will acknowledge a complaint within a reasonable period and aim to provide a substantive response promptly. Where a dispute cannot be resolved between us, a consumer may refer the matter to a certified alternative dispute resolution provider, or seek advice from Citizens Advice, Trading Standards or another recognised consumer body. We are not obliged to participate in alternative dispute resolution, but we will consider any reasonable request to do so. Business customers agree to attempt good-faith negotiation before commencing proceedings.
12. Reporting Problems, Changes to This Notice and Last Updated Date
If you find something on the website that is inaccurate, out of date, unsafe, misleading or unlawful, please tell us. Write to london@abbeyroadinstitute.com or call +44 (0)20 7266 7397, quoting the page or document concerned and, where possible, the nature of the problem and any supporting evidence. Reports about security vulnerabilities, data protection matters and intellectual property complaints are treated as priority and are handled by the responsible representatives described in section 2.
We review this notice regularly and may change it to reflect changes in our business, in the services we offer, or in the law. The version published on this page is the version in force. Where a change materially affects your rights or the way we handle personal data, we will take reasonable steps to bring it to your attention, for example by placing a notice on the site or by sending an email to registered users. Continuing to use the website after a change takes effect means that you accept the updated notice.
The current version of this legal information notice was last updated on 3 November 2026, and it replaces all earlier versions. Any questions about this page, or about the identity of the operator, should be directed to glitzfy using the contact route set out in section 3.
